Born in Garland, Texas, Jason was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ's gift of salvation at the age of 12. While a sophomore at Baylor University, he was called by God into full-time ministry. Jason came to Houston in 1988 to study at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for a summer internship and has called Houston home ever since.
He served in student ministry for eight years before joining the staff of Houston's First in 1995. Jason served in several leadership roles, and in 2013, he was named Campus Pastor of Houston’s First Baptist Church - Cypress.
Jason met his wife, Paige, on a blind date, and they were married in November 1991. They have three adult sons, Chambers, Harrison, and Preston, and three grandchildren. Jason is known for his strong love for the church and his passion for discipling people and families.
Outside of ministry, he enjoys fitness, reading, the outdoors, music, and spending time with family. He also enjoys good Tex-Mex and is often found around coffee shops in Cypress.
